Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data YourAura collects, why, how we store it, and how you can have it deleted. We keep this short and accurate: we describe only what we actually do.
Who we are
YourAura (“YourAura,” “we,” “us”) is a personalized fragrance maker based in Los Angeles, California. We are the controller of the data described below. For any privacy question or request, contact us at juan@youraurafragrance.com.
Instagram messages we receive
When you send a direct message to our Instagram account @youraurafragrance, Meta delivers that message to us through Instagram’s official messaging API. From those messages we receive and store:
- the text of your message;
- any reels or posts you share with us, and the references Meta provides for them (such as a media ID or permalink);
- your Instagram user ID and username;
- timestamps for the messages.
We only receive this when you choose to message us. We do not scrape Instagram, and we do not collect your followers, your browsing, or anything outside the messages you send us.
Why we use it
We use Instagram message content to receive and review what customers and prospective customers tell us, and to gather inspiration (for example, reels you share) for YourAura’s product development and content work. We may reply to you within Instagram. We do not use this data for automated advertising, and we never sell it.
How we store it
Instagram message data is stored on a private, access-controlled server that we operate. Access is limited to YourAura and the people who run it on our behalf. We retain message data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, and no longer than 24 months, after which it is deleted. We delete data sooner when it is no longer needed or when you ask us to (see below).
Your data, and how to request deletion
You can ask us to delete the data we hold about you at any time. To do so, email juan@youraurafragrance.com from, or referencing, the Instagram account you messaged us with, and ask us to delete your data. So we can find the right records, please include your Instagram username.
We will confirm receipt and delete the Instagram message data we hold about you within 30 days, and let you know when it is done. We also honor data-deletion requests that Meta forwards to us on your behalf. There is no charge for this.
Meta and other third parties
The Instagram data described here originates through Meta’s Instagram and Messaging APIs and is subject to Meta’s own terms and policies, including the Instagram Privacy Policy and Meta Platform Terms. We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We use a small number of service providers (for example, our hosting provider, and Stripe for payments) strictly to operate YourAura.
Information from our website
Separately from Instagram, when you use this website we collect the quiz answers and the blend you design (to compose your fragrance), and, if you order, your order and delivery details. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card number. We store a session identifier in your browser to keep your progress. This information is held in our database and used to provide YourAura to you.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and post the new version here.
